Venue
The 2012 Championships are being held at Tunnel Barn Farm, Shrewly, Warwick, CB35 7AN. On saturday 9th Club, Canel and New Pools are being used, and on Sunday 10th the matches are on House, Top and Extension Pools. There is a full tackle shops and café on site with camping and static caravans also available.
Entry Rules
All anglers are to have paid their entry fee to the Coarse Secretary (currently Cdr Mardlin) no later than Fri 4th May 2012 to guarantee entry. Failure to apply and pay by this date without prior arrangement (only for Service or Welfare reasons) will lead to withdrawal from the competition. On 9th May the balance of the payment for the pegs will be made to the venue after when unused pegs may be allocated to other clubs; prizes will also be ordered at the same time therefore late applications will only be accepted if pegs are available and at the discretion of the Coarse Secretary
The entry cost has been raised to £25 because of the increased cost of Tunnel Barn Farm. Last year a number of anglers complained that they were joining the Association just for the Championships and were therefore paying £40 (now £45) for a single match. I said then, and reiterate here, that this match, with prizes, costs the Association £45 per head and no profits are being made. There are also other matches that all anglers are eligible to fish should they choose to do so.
Any angler who is not recorded on the RN&RM AA membership database for 2012 by 1st Jun may be withdrawn from the competition. Membership is easy to renew online by PayPal or by Cheque to the Membership Secretary (NOT the Coarse Secretary). Only in exceptional circumstances will memberships be processed at the competition.
Failure to produce a rod licence on request or breaking any of the rules in Annex B will lead to disqualification.
Match Details and the Draw
The draw on Saturday will take place at the venue at 0900. All in will be at 1100 and we will fish until 1700. On Sunday the draw will take place at the venue at 0800. All in will be at 1000 and we will fish until 1500.
The draw is to be attended and conducted by Team Captains on behalf of their teams. All anglers are to be present for the brief directly after the draw on Saturday. Any variations to these rules and instructions will be briefed at that time.
The Event
The event is both a team and individual competition. Anglers may form themselves into teams on the application form or leave it to the discretion of the Coarse Secretary. Teams are to be finalised no later than 1900 on Friday 8th Jun.
The individual winners will be decided by section results over the two days of matches. In the event of a tie, weight will decide the outcome. The team event winners will be decided by a cumulative team total of section results, all four anglers to count. In the event of a tie, the winners will be decided by the total number of section wins over the two day competition. Section scores will be high to low and will be dependent on the size of the largest section. Although not expected, zero will be scored for a blank.
Prizes & Trophies
All entrants will receive at least one prize at the award giving ceremony. Trophies will be awarded to the Winner and Runner Up of both the Service and Associate sections of the event. A trophy will also be awarded to each member of the winning team of four anglers. All trophies, prizes and pools will be awarded in the fishery café on completion of the final match.
Pools
Pools are optional and are set at £10 per day. For those wishing to enter all monies are to be with the match officials before the draw commences. This is to be collected by the Team Captains and handed to the 2i/c. Wherever possible this is to be completed for both days on the Friday evening so that the money can be put in the fishery safe. Anyone taking any of the first 4 positions will forfeit their section pool; thereby spreading the pools more widely (16 anglers will be paid per match). Assuming 60 anglers entering the pools the payout, per match, will be:
| Per Individual | Amount | Per Section | Total Paid | |
| 1st | £110.00 | Section 1st | £35.00 | £110.00|
| 2nd | £85.00 | Section 2nd | £25.00 | £85.00 |
| 3rd | £60.00 | Section 3rd | £15.00 | £60.00 |
| 4th | £45.00 | |||
| Total | £600.00 | |||
| Reduced number of anglers entering the pools, will result in the payout of each position being reduced by £5.00 in turn, commencing with 1st place and working down the payouts. | ||||
SuperPools will be run separately. All entries for it are optional and must be complete before the draw commences.
Refreshments
Burgers with cheese and onions and tea/coffee have been arranged for all anglers attending the prize giving within the entry cost of the competition.
