Round 1 ~ Monday 2 March at Heronbrook: Report

Round One: Results & Report Round Two: Results & Report Round Three: Results & Report Round Four: Results & Report

The first Inter Command of 2009 started with an overnight frost and a forecast of wind and showers throughout the day. The previous day at Heronbrook, 83lb had won the winter league match with 60's and 50's as backing weights. You know where this is going!!

Canal and Bridge pools were chosen, as these lakes were the most consistent from the previous day. For once the forecast was right, a cold wind blew and the showers of rain made for unpleasant conditions. Some struggled more than others due to the wind direction affecting some anglers and not others. Although the conditions did not deter CPO Mick Ezard (Plymouth) from weighing in 40lb for a section and Advanced category win. CPO Keith Masheeder (NAC) was second individual with 38lb 02oz. Third place individual was CPO Nick Jones (Plymouth) with 36lb 12oz. In the Intermediate category, PO Neil Robinson (Plymouth) won with a weight of 26lb 10oz and CPO Neil Kippax (NAC) was second with 25lb 12oz. CPO Paul Haigh (NAC won the Novice category with 6lb 12oz.

NAC won the team event with 20 points, the RM's were second with 19 and Plymouth and Scotland tied on 18 points each. Plymouth having a comprehensive weight advantage were therefore declared as third.
